Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Calhoun County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:

- Visited pages and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Calhoun County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies access routes through the Calhoun County Sheriff, Magistrate and Circuit courts, the West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, and the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry. Under W. Va. Code §15-2-24(d), dissemination of WVSP criminal identification records to a private requester requires the record subject's written, acknowledged authorization. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. We do not control those terms, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Calhoun County government, West Virginia courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. Any such tracking is performed through their systems.

We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
