About Calhoun County Criminal History

Calhoun County criminal records are divided among the Sheriff's Office, the county courts in Grantsville, the West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, the state corrections system, and the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry. Each office keeps a different part of the record. This site was built to make those lines clear and direct readers to the correct official portal, mailing address, or phone number without an aimless search across agency websites.

Why We Built This Site

West Virginia provides several routes to public criminal record information, yet no single office holds the full story. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office may keep reports created by its deputies. Magistrate Court keeps misdemeanor matters and early felony proceedings, while the Circuit Clerk holds circuit pleadings and felony case files. The West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau maintains the statewide repository, and IdentoGO handles fingerprint appointments for official checks. Regional custody records belong to the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The purpose of this site is to organize the verified contacts, official search tools, and request steps for those separate custodians.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site, not part of a West Virginia court, law-enforcement office, or state agency. Its role is limited to explaining public access routes:

  • We do not issue certified court documents, rap sheets, or other official records
  • We cannot submit an expungement petition, public-record request, or court filing for a visitor
  • We do not run official background checks or retrieve a person's criminal history
  • We cannot give legal advice about a charge, warrant, conviction, or individual case
  • We cannot promise that an agency's fee, address, phone number, or procedure has not changed

An official copy must come from the agency that created or maintains it, such as the Calhoun County Sheriff, the appropriate court clerk, or the West Virginia State Police.

Search Partners

Search boxes on some pages are supplied and operated by outside companies. A partner controls its own results, prices, terms, and data practices. We may receive a referral fee when a visitor follows one of those tools and purchases a service, which supports free access to this reference material. We do not decide what a partner charges or guarantee the accuracy or scope of its results.
